Let me tell you a story. I started working downtown and walk to work if the weather permits. It's a long walk (45mins each way) but I don't mind since it's exercise, saves me a few dollars and I like the time to think and listen to my podcasts. Believe it or not, doing the train and bus combo saves only about 5-10mins. This way at least I get to avoid getting pushed around on the train and random delays.
So for this summer when I had to transition from boots to a summer shoe, my goal was to find something stylish and also comfy for a long walk. This means no heels and possibly flats. I have flats but it is not quite flat weather just yet. I figured Converse Chucks would do the trick. I like how they looked on other people but whenever I tried them on, I felt silly. Kinda like ronald mc donald with big floppy shoes.
Somebody posted the Coach Alegra Sneaker below somewhere online & I loved the detailing but felt it was a little too trendy to me for some reason and not worth spending >$100 on. Slip on shoes I feel change their shape & toe box style all the time.

Well what did I see at Winners, a sneaker version of the sneaker which I didn't even think to check if it existed. This is what they actually look like except in black. Keep scrolling down for my pictures. I thought this was a little more classic and would last more than one season.

I'd say the detailing on the black shoe isn't super easy to spot. It is a mix between the first picture where you can't see any of the detailing and the second picture where you can clearly see it. It was $100 at winners. As you can see, it retails for $168 though it seems like it is currently on sale for $120. That's about double what I was looking to spend but I am a sucker for details and getting something different so there goes my bank account.
Note the sole didn't feel all that cushiony like you would expect a sneaker to so don't get this if you're looking for a super cushiony shoe. I will report back once I wear it around!
The winners also had some puma alexander mcqueen collaboration wedges there if that's your thing. I liked it minus the wedge part of it. I couldn't imagine walking for 2 hours in anything that's not flat.
